Just a couple of 'Maya' moments

That girl never ceases to amaze me. Recently I got her an embroidery hoop and a blunt needle, just for the sake of letting her learn something new. Saying she was thrilled with this new activity would be a criminal understatement. She could.not.put.it.down.

And here's a new gem that came out of her mouth today:

me: Maya, what are you going to wear today?
Maya: You. I'm going to wear you out.

I guess that's what comes after all that practice with 'knock, knock' jokes.

Oooh, the embroidery hoop is a great idea! And I unfortunately am completely in sympathy with you over the brutally honest comments about how they really do intend to drive us mad!

you know, it is the sad truth that they often *plan* to wear us out, but in this case I was amazed with the brilliant use of pun. I mean, she said it s a joke (ok, half-joke), and I don't think I could spontaneously come up with something like that on my own...

Further proof that Maya is more witty than I am. But, I have to say this one has made me laugh all day. It's brilliant!

What a hoot!!!

I only have boys so I don't know for sure but I think it must be wonderful to teach your daughter embroidery.

Is there a pattern for the knit skirt below with the bloomers underneath? Very cute!

I've been thinking of this, too-- wondering if my daughter would like to embroider.
A wonderful autumn or winter pastime....

I tried this with my son (age 3) awhile back when I was embroidering something, I think he was a little young and didn't quite have the "eye-hand coordination" thing down yet. Maybe we'll try again.

Your welcome to join our milk co-op, here is a link to the yahoo group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/slc_rawmilk/?yguid=345152630. The farm is at their milk capacity right now, but said come October they will adding a few more cows and then they can add more people. I'll keep everyone posted on the yahoo group when I hear from them.

I love the embroidery! How wonderful to see your kids so inspired to create! My kids love this activity as well.

Off topic, Olya, do you have a favorite camera lens (or two) these days? I am looking for some thoughts and I love your photos as always...
